Broken Pastor Podcast
This is a podcast from a broken pastor. I am a follower of Jesus Christ but I’m not sure I know what a Christian is anymore, at least not with the current Western definition of the word. The American church has become overrun with people who would weaponize the word of God for their own political or social machinations. I no longer see a hospital for the broken in the American church, I see a country club for people who think alike. Jesus was a maverick who thought outside the boundaries of social norms during His time. There are too many black-and-white decisions being made by churches in the US, by the pastors of those churches, and by the people in them. We were told to love the Lord our God with all our heart and love our neighbors as ourselves. We were told to turn the other cheek. We were told not to gossip. We were told to pick up our cross and follow Him. We were told that hating someone in our mind was the same as murdering them. We were told to live in the world but not of the world. This podcast is all about the freedom that a pastor has when he is not beholden to the best tithers in the church, to the politics of the church board, to the whims of a denomination, or to pressure from society, this is what happens when a pastor is beholden to God and God’s word only. There won’t be any cute/fun series here that take the same scripture over and over and apply it to every point a pastor wants to make. We will be working through books of the Bible together, learning God’s word together, growing together, and becoming true followers of Christ together. Let me say this because it’s important, there are good churches out there, great pastors who love God and do their best, and amazing people who sit in the congregations every Sunday, but they are being shouted down by the ones who would use the Word to justify hate, to justify injustice, and to justify un-Christian behavior. This podcast is not to drive people from the church, I hope that this podcast will energize Christians and non-Christians alike to study Jesus Christ’s words for themselves, to learn what it is He said He wanted for us and out of us. I hope that every single person who listens to this will go out and find a church and become a bastion for the light of Christ within that church.

A little about me, episode 2 is my testimony but some highlights for you. Not raised in a Christian environment, satanist at 13, Pagan at 19, militant atheist at 22, radically saved at 35, Pastor at 36, wife divorced me at 44 while planting a church, voluntarily gave up pastor license at end of 2023, still anointed by God to provide His message to everyone that will listen.
